Dropbox Sign Pricing 2026: Plans, Cost per User, and Seat Minimums

Dropbox Sign sells two self-serve tiers plus a custom Premium plan and a separate API. Here are the current published prices, shown for both annual and month-to-month billing, along with what each tier includes.

All paid plans include unlimited signature requests, which is a genuine advantage over tools that cap envelopes or invites. Essentials is a single-user plan. The seat minimum is the part of Dropbox Sign pricing that surprises people. Essentials works fine for one person, but it is deliberately a single-user plan with a 5-template limit and no custom branding. The moment you need branding, more templates, or a second sender, the only way up is Standard, and Standard will not sell you a single seat. The floor is two.

For a solo operator that means paying for two seats to use features one person needs, so the effective entry price for Standard is about $50 a month on monthly billing rather than the $25 the page shows. For a two or three person team it means the bill scales with every sender you add. Neither is unreasonable for a large team, but for a small business that sends a handful of agreements a week it is more structure, and more money, than the job requires. It is worth being fair about what Dropbox Sign gets right. Unlimited signature requests on every paid plan is a real strength. The cost pressure is not volume, it is people and features. That is $2 per request at the entry volume, and the rate falls as volume rises under a negotiated plan. It is billed separately from the per user eSignature plans, so an API subscription does not include seats for people sending documents by hand.

Embedded signing is a different purchase from team signing, and the two get confused on pricing pages. If you are wiring signature requests into your own product, you are buying API requests. If your staff are sending contracts from a dashboard, you are buying seats. Teams doing both pay for both, which is worth modelling before you commit to an annual term.
