pdfFiller Subscription Plans: pdfFiller Pricing, pdfFiller Cost per Month and the Best pdfFiller Alternative in 2026

pdfFiller costs $8, $12 or $15 per user per month on an annual commitment, and $20, $30 or $40 per user per month if you pay as you go. Two enterprise tiers reuse the $8 and $15 rates but require a minimum of 20 and 10 users respectively and are quoted by sales. Every figure below was read off pdfFiller's plan page on August 26, 2026.

The per-year column is ours. pdfFiller prints the monthly rate and the words Annual commitment and leaves the multiplication to you. The last column is where most of the money hides, and it is the subject of the next section.

Almost every review of pdfFiller opens with some version of pricing starts at $8 a month. That sentence is true and, for anybody shopping for e-signature, close to useless.

Look at how pdfFiller stacks its own feature lists. Basic is headed Fill and edit documents. Plus is headed Create documents and templates, and its list opens with Everything in Basic and. Premium is headed eSign and create workflows, its list opens with Everything in Plus and, and the very first item under that is Send documents out to be signed using signNow. Sending is not a capability that gets better as you climb the ladder. It appears once, at the top.

So if the reason you are looking at pdfFiller is that you need a client, a tenant or a new hire to sign something, the $8 tier and the $12 tier do not do the job at all. Your real choice is $15 a month on a twelve-month commitment, which is $180 handed over on day one, or $40 a month if you want to be able to walk away. Against the advertised $8, that is roughly five times the price.

The same trap is worse on the enterprise side. Basic for Enterprise carries a twenty-seat minimum, works out to at least $1,920 a year, adds a dedicated CSM and an advanced audit trail, and still cannot send a document out to be signed. If a procurement team buys it expecting signatures, that is a $1,920 mistake made from a price list that never says no.

This one is checkable in ten seconds and nobody seems to check it. Each plan has a payment-schedule dropdown with two options: an annual one carrying a percentage-off badge, and Month-to-month. Both prices are printed on the same card. So the discount can be worked out exactly, from pdfFiller's numbers only.

The badges are not arithmetic errors so much as measurements against a price that is not for sale. For 67% off to give $8, the list price would have to be about $24.24. For 70% off to give $12, it would have to be $40. For 67% off to give $15, it would have to be about $45.45. None of those three numbers appears anywhere on pdfFiller's plan page, and none of them equals the month-to-month rate a buyer would actually pay.

The practical effect is small in dollars and worth knowing anyway: the saving from committing to a year is 60% on Basic and Plus and 62.5% on Premium. It is a genuinely large discount. It is just not the one on the badge.

pdfFiller and signNow are both airSlate products; the copyright line at the foot of pdfFiller's site reads airSlate Inc. and signNow is listed among its products. That relationship produces an odd result at the checkout.

signNow's own purchase page, checked on August 23, 2026, prices Business Premium at $15 a month on an annual commitment, and gives that plan 100 invites per year. pdfFiller Premium is also $15 a month on an annual commitment, and its feature list states signNow Premium plan included.

Same parent company, same headline price, and one of the two bundles a PDF editor and an 85,000-form library on top. If you were about to buy signNow Business Premium and you have any use at all for PDF editing, the pdfFiller-shaped door is the better-value one at an identical rate. Confirm the signNow tier at checkout before you commit, since the inclusion is stated on the marketing page rather than in a contract, but the two published prices are the two published prices.

Monthly rates are not comparable across e-signature vendors because the allowances differ wildly. Cost per document sent is comparable, so here is pdfFiller placed against the rest of the category using each vendor's own published price and its own published cap. Every figure is the annual cost divided by the plan's yearly send allowance.

pdfFiller Premium lands mid-table at $1.80, which is respectable for a product where signing is a bonus feature attached to a PDF editor. It is cheaper per send than every DocuSign tier. It is more expensive per send than DocHub Pro, and it costs $36 a year more for a hundred sends against DocHub's uncapped ones.

The honest reading: if signatures are the whole job, pdfFiller is not the cheapest way to buy them. If you also spend real time editing PDFs, filling in government forms or pulling state-specific paperwork out of a library, the $180 buys two products and the per-send figure understates it.

pdfFiller Basic is $8 per user per month on an annual commitment, which is $96 a year per seat, or $20 per user per month with no commitment. It covers editing, filling, drawing, printing, saving and faxing PDFs, erasing and re-writing existing text, merging and rearranging pages, converting PDFs so they reopen editable in Word, and cloud access from any device. Support is answered within a day.

What Basic does not include is worth listing, because it is the difference between Basic and the tier above: no pdfFiller templates, no fillable fields, no version restore, no password protection, and no ability to send a document to another person for signature. If any of those five is on your list, Basic is not your plan.

pdfFiller states a 180-day refund window. Its plan-page FAQ reads: full refunds are available within 180 days of subscription cancellation by contacting our support team via Live Chat or by emailing support at pdffiller.com. Cancellation itself is handled through My Account, and downgrades go through support rather than self-serve.

Six months is unusually generous for this category and it is the strongest single thing on pdfFiller's price list. For scale, DocuSign's published policy on annual plans bought through its own site is a refund within 30 days of purchase, checked on August 23, 2026. pdfFiller's window is six times longer and runs from cancellation rather than from purchase.

Two caveats worth holding. It is a stated support policy rather than a self-serve button, so the refund goes through a human. And a policy printed on a marketing page in August 2026 is a policy as of August 2026; if it matters to your decision, get it confirmed in writing before you pay for a year.

Partly, and it costs extra. HIPAA compliance appears on exactly one plan card, Basic for Enterprise, and pdfFiller prints it as HIPAA compliance followed by a dollar sign in brackets. On that page the dollar sign is how paid add-ons are marked, so HIPAA is not bundled into the enterprise rate; it is bought on top of it.

The practical consequence for a US healthcare buyer: the entry point is not $8 or $15 a month. It is a twenty-seat enterprise contract, quoted by sales, with a HIPAA line item added, which puts the floor somewhere north of $1,920 a year. That is a reasonable price for a compliant document platform. It is a long way from the number on the pricing page, and it is the single most common surprise in this product's price list.

SignSend has no HIPAA option at any price, so if you are handling protected health information, this is a case where the more expensive product is the correct one.

It depends entirely on which half of pdfFiller you were buying, because it is two products sold as one.

If you were buying the PDF editor, the honest answer is that pdfFiller is strong at it and the alternatives are Adobe Acrobat or DocHub, not an e-signature tool. Nothing in the signing category will match an 85,000-form library and a full page editor for $96 a year.

If you were buying the signing, you are paying $180 a year for a signNow Premium plan wrapped in an editor you may not need. The alternatives worth pricing are DocHub Pro at $144 a year with uncapped sign requests, signNow Business at $96 a year for 84 invites, and SignSend Pro at $12 a month with unlimited documents and no yearly commitment. SignSend does one thing: you upload a finished PDF, add your signers, send it, and get back a signed copy with the audit trail printed into the document. There is no editor, no form library and no field placement tool, so if you need those, buy pdfFiller.

If you were buying HIPAA coverage, price the enterprise tier properly at twenty seats plus the add-on before comparing it with anything, because at that point you are in a different market segment than the $8 headline suggests.
