SignSend Pro a month, month to month, unlimited documents

Smallpdf costs $15 a month for Pro billed monthly, or $120 for a year billed yearly, which works out to $10 a month. Smallpdf Team is $12 a seat a month billed monthly or $8 a seat billed yearly, for 2 to 19 seats, and Business for 20 seats and up is quoted by sales. There is also a Free plan with limited downloads. Sending documents out for signature is handled by Sign.com, which every paid plan includes.

Those are US dollar prices, read off Smallpdf's pricing page with both the Monthly and Yearly toggles and checked against Smallpdf's own App Store listing, which prices the Monthly Plan at $14.99 and the Yearly Plan at $119.99. Several pricing directories still show an older price list, and Smallpdf shows euros to visitors from Europe, so the figures you find elsewhere often disagree. This page sorts out which numbers are current and what each plan really costs over a year.

If you are pricing Smallpdf because you need contracts, agreements or forms signed, the most useful number is further down: what the signing part costs on its own. For that one job, SignSend Pro is $12 a month, billed month to month, with unlimited documents and unlimited signers.

How much does Smallpdf cost?

Smallpdf costs $15 a month for Pro on a monthly bill or $120 a year on a yearly bill. Team is $12 a seat a month monthly or $8 a seat a month yearly, for 2 to 19 seats. Business, for 20 or more seats, is priced by quote. The Free plan costs nothing but limits downloads and caps its Sign.com account at 2 documents a month.

Smallpdf Free$0$0$0Sign.com free account, 2 documents a month
Smallpdf Pro$15$10$120 yearly, or $180 paid monthlyUnlimited Sign.com Premium
Smallpdf Team, per seat$12$8$96 a seat yearly, 2 seat minimumSign.com Premium for each member
Smallpdf BusinessQuoteQuoteQuote, 20 seats and upSign.com Premium for each member

The App Store listing agrees with the website to the cent once the rounding is removed: Monthly Plan $14.99 and Yearly Plan $119.99. The same listing carries several older in-app items at other prices; we do not quote those, because they are legacy purchases rather than what a new US buyer is offered today.

How much is Smallpdf Pro?

Smallpdf Pro is $15 a month if you pay monthly, or $120 a year if you pay yearly, which is $10 a month. Pro unlocks unlimited use of the toolkit, unlimited downloads, editing, OCR and the mobile app, and it includes an unlimited Sign.com Premium subscription for signature requests. New users can try it for 7 days before the first charge.

The yearly toggle on the US page carries a -34% badge, and the dollars agree: $10 against $15 is one third off. Smallpdf's own Free vs Pro article says yearly billing is 25% cheaper. Both are true in their own currency. Visitors in Europe see euros and a smaller gap, and that article was written with the euro numbers. If you are a US buyer, the saving is $60 a year, which is the gap between $180 paid monthly and $120 paid yearly.

How you pay for ProChargedOver twelve months
Monthly on the website$15 a month$180
Yearly on the website$120 once a year$120
Monthly Plan in the iPhone app$14.99 a month$179.88
Yearly Plan in the iPhone app$119.99 once a year$119.99

A subscription bought in the app is billed and cancelled through Apple, not through Smallpdf's website, so pick the storefront you want to manage it from.

How much does Smallpdf Team cost?

Smallpdf Team costs $12 a seat a month billed monthly, or $8 a seat a month billed yearly, for 2 to 19 seats. A two person team pays $24 a month or $192 a year. At 20 seats you move to Business, which Smallpdf quotes rather than lists. Each Team member gets the full Pro toolkit and a Sign.com Premium seat.

Here is what the seat count does to the bill, using only Smallpdf's published per-seat rates.

SeatsPaid monthly, per monthPaid monthly, over a yearPaid yearly
2$24$288$192
5$60$720$480
10$120$1,440$960
19$228$2,736$1,824
20 and upBusiness plan, priced by quote

Two practical points. Team is the better deal than separate Pro accounts as soon as there are two of you, since a Team seat is $3 a month cheaper than Pro on the monthly bill and $2 a month cheaper on the yearly one. And the count that matters is people who need the toolkit. Someone who only signs what you send never needs a seat, because Sign.com signers sign from the email link.

Why do some sites say Smallpdf costs $9 a month or $108 a year?

Because they are showing an older Smallpdf price list. The $108 a year that appears in search snippets is twelve months at $9, and at least one pricing directory still lists Pro at $9 yearly and $12 monthly, and Team at $7 and $10 for 2 to 50 users. Smallpdf's current US page prices Pro at $10 yearly and $15 monthly, and Team at $8 and $12 for 2 to 19 seats.

ItemOlder figures still on directoriesSmallpdf's current US page
Pro, billed yearly$9 a month, $108 a year$10 a month, $120 a year
Pro, billed monthly$12$15
Team, per seat$7 yearly, $10 monthly$8 yearly, $12 monthly
Team size2 to 50 users2 to 19 seats, Business from 20

If a quote you were given is built on the older numbers, expect the real invoice to be higher. Capterra's listing shows the current $15 Pro and $12 Team monthly rates, so it is a better cross-check than the directories that have not updated.

What does Smallpdf cost if you only need documents signed?

If you only need other people to sign documents, you are paying Smallpdf's price for Sign.com's product. Smallpdf Pro is $120 a year or $15 a month and includes Sign.com Premium. Sign.com sells that same Premium plan on its own for $7 a month billed yearly, $84 a year. SignSend Pro is $12 a month with no annual commitment.

OptionPaid monthly, per yearPaid yearlyWhat you get besides signing
Smallpdf Pro$180$120The full PDF toolkit
Sign.com Premium on its ownNot checked$84Signing only
SignSend Pro$144None, month to month onlySigning only, with automatic reminders

So the honest answer depends on how you pay. On a yearly bill, Sign.com direct is the cheapest of the three and we will not pretend otherwise. On a monthly bill, SignSend is $36 a year less than Smallpdf Pro, and you can stop in any month you have nothing to send. If you also compress, convert and OCR PDFs every week, Smallpdf Pro at $120 a year is fair value for the whole toolkit, with signing thrown in.

The Smallpdf alternative comparison goes further into the feature side, and the e-signature pricing comparison puts Smallpdf next to DocuSign, pdfFiller, DocHub and the rest.

Does Smallpdf have a free trial?

Yes. Smallpdf offers a 7-day free trial of Pro, and it does not charge you if you cancel inside those seven days. After the trial, Pro renews at the price of the plan you picked, $15 a month or $120 a year. Smallpdf's two pages describe cancelling the trial differently, so plan your testing before you cancel.

The pricing page FAQ says a cancelled trial downgrades your account to the free plan when the 7-day period expires. The help article on cancelling says Pro features are removed immediately and the trial cannot be resumed. Both agree on the money: no charge inside the seven days. They disagree on whether you keep Pro until day seven, so the safe reading is the stricter one.

Can you cancel Smallpdf anytime?

Yes. Sign in on the website, open Account settings, go to Plan and Billing, and click Cancel Subscription twice to confirm. A paid Pro plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are cancelled in the store's settings instead. Smallpdf says it reviews refund requests case by case.

Do not use Delete account as a shortcut: Smallpdf's help article says it cancels all subscriptions at once and permanently deletes your files. Our guide on how to cancel a Smallpdf subscription walks through each case.

Is Smallpdf worth the price?

Smallpdf is worth $120 a year if you work with PDFs most days: converting, compressing, editing and running OCR, with signing included. It is weaker value when signatures are the whole job, because then you are paying for a toolkit you do not open and a signing product you could buy separately for less.

SignSend is built for that second buyer. Upload a finished PDF up to 20MB, add the people who need to sign, and send it. Pro is $12 a month with unlimited documents, unlimited signers, automatic reminders, a full audit trail and a certificate of completion. Business is $29 a month and adds bulk send to up to 200 recipients and your company name on the signing page. It does not edit or convert PDFs, which is exactly why a toolkit is the better buy if those are your daily tasks.

Features

What the Smallpdf price list does not add up for you

Six things worth knowing before you pick a plan, taken from Smallpdf's own pages.

The yearly discount is 33%, not 25%

On the US page, Pro is $15 monthly and $10 a month billed yearly, a one third saving, and the Yearly toggle carries a -34% badge. Smallpdf's own Free vs Pro article says yearly is 25% cheaper. That is the euro figure: in euros the gap is smaller.

Team seats are cheaper than Pro

Team lists at $12 a seat monthly and $8 a seat yearly, with the Pro rate shown struck through above it. Two people on Team pay less per head than one person on Pro, which matters if two of you were each about to buy Pro.

Signing is Sign.com

Every paid plan card carries a Sign.com panel. Pro includes an unlimited Sign.com Premium subscription. Requests you send for signature go out through Sign.com, a separate product from the same company, with its own site and its own price list.

Sign.com costs less on its own

Sign.com lists Premium at $7 a month billed yearly, which is $84 a year, against $120 for Smallpdf Pro. If the signing is all you use, the bundle costs $36 a year more than the piece you came for.

The trial ends Pro at once if you cancel it

Smallpdf offers a 7-day Pro trial with no charge if you cancel inside it. Its help article says cancelling during the trial removes Pro features immediately and the trial cannot be resumed, so test everything before you press cancel.

Old prices are still everywhere

Some pricing directories still list Pro at $9 and $12 a month and Team for 2 to 50 users, which is an older Smallpdf price list. The $108 a year that shows up in search snippets is 12 times that old $9 rate. The current yearly Pro price is $120.

How it works

Or send your next document in three steps

If signatures are the reason you were about to buy Smallpdf, this is the whole workflow.

01

Upload the PDF

Drag in the finished document you need signed, up to 20MB. SignSend signs PDFs, so export from Word or Google Docs first.

02

Add your signers

Type in names and email addresses. SignSend places the signature block for you, so there is nothing to drag into position.

03

Send it and get it back signed

Each signer gets an email link and signs on any device without an account. Reminders go out on their own, and the finished PDF carries a certificate of completion.

Who it’s for

Who is shopping Smallpdf prices, and what they should buy

Office managers with a PDF backlog

Scans to compress, forms to convert, pages to OCR every week. Smallpdf Pro or Team is the right tool, and the yearly bill saves a third.

Freelancers sending contracts

Statements of work and NDAs go out as finished PDFs. The job is signatures and a record of who signed when, on a bill that can stop in a slow month.

Small law and accounting practices

Engagement letters and authorizations need two or three signatures each and an audit trail that holds up. A signing tool with unlimited documents fits better than a toolkit.

Teams of two to five

If everybody edits PDFs, Smallpdf Team beats separate Pro accounts. If only one person sends for signature, one signing account usually covers the whole office.

FAQ

Smallpdf pricing questions, answered

How much is Smallpdf per month?

Smallpdf Pro is $15 a month on a monthly bill, or $10 a month when you pay $120 for the year. Team is $12 a seat a month on a monthly bill or $8 a seat billed yearly. In the iPhone app, the Monthly Plan is $14.99.

How much is Smallpdf per year?

Smallpdf Pro is $120 a year on the yearly plan, or $119.99 through the App Store. Paying monthly for twelve months costs $180. A Team seat is $96 a year on the yearly plan, with a minimum of two seats.

Is Smallpdf Pro a one-time payment?

No. Smallpdf Pro is a subscription that renews every month or every year depending on the plan you pick. Auto renewal can be turned off in your account, and Pro then stays active until the period you paid for ends.

Does Smallpdf charge per user?

Pro is a single-user plan. Team charges per seat, $8 to $12 a seat a month for 2 to 19 seats, and Business for 20 or more seats is quoted. People who only sign documents you send them do not need a seat.

Is Sign.com included in Smallpdf Pro?

Yes. Smallpdf Pro includes an unlimited Sign.com Premium subscription, and Team gives each member Sign.com Premium. The Free plan includes a Sign.com free account limited to 2 documents a month.

Does Smallpdf give refunds?

Smallpdf says it handles refund requests case by case. Cancelling a paid plan stops the next renewal and leaves Pro active until the end of the current period. Cancelling inside the 7-day trial means you are not charged at all.

Why is Smallpdf showing me prices in euros?

Smallpdf shows prices in the local currency of where it thinks you are, so a visitor routed through Europe sees euros and a smaller yearly discount. US buyers are charged the dollar prices on this page: $15 or $120 for Pro.

What is cheaper than Smallpdf for getting documents signed?

On a monthly bill, SignSend Pro is $12 a month against Smallpdf Pro's $15, with unlimited documents and signers. On a yearly bill, Sign.com Premium bought directly at $84 a year is cheaper than both. If you also need the PDF tools, Smallpdf Pro yearly is the sensible buy.
