HelloSign, now sold as Dropbox Sign, is cheaper than PandaDoc for one person who only needs documents signed: $180 a year against $228. For two or more users the order flips, because Dropbox Sign Standard is $300 per user a year with a two seat minimum and PandaDoc Starter stays at $228 per user. PandaDoc is the one to buy when your team writes proposals and quotes inside the tool. Dropbox Sign is the one to buy when the document is already finished and you live in Dropbox.

Most comparisons of these two stop at the feature list. This one prices both for 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 users from each vendor's own published numbers, shows what each plan leaves out, and covers the case where a small team pays less with neither.

How much do PandaDoc and HelloSign cost?

PandaDoc Starter is $19 per user a month billed yearly and Business is $49, or $35 and $65 month to month. Dropbox Sign Essentials is $15 a month billed yearly for one user, or $20 month to month, and Standard is $25 per user a month billed yearly, or $30 month to month, with at least two users. Both vendors quote their top tier through sales.

PandaDoc prices come from the plan comparison in PandaDoc's help center and Dropbox Sign prices from its pricing page. Dropbox Sign also shows a promotional rate, 30 percent off the first year of an annual plan, which brings Essentials to $10.05 a month and Standard to $17.50 per user. That is a first year price. Budget on the list price, because that is what the plan renews at. The full breakdowns are on the PandaDoc pricing and HelloSign pricing pages.

What do PandaDoc and HelloSign cost a year for 1, 3 and 5 users?

Three users cost $684 a year on PandaDoc Starter, $900 on Dropbox Sign Standard and $1,764 on PandaDoc Business. Five users cost $1,140, $1,500 and $2,940. Both charge for every person who sends, so the totals climb in a straight line.

The last column is our own product, included because it prices differently. SignSend Pro covers up to 3 people for $288 a year and SignSend Business covers up to 10 for $588, with unlimited documents on both. For one person, Dropbox Sign Essentials and PandaDoc Starter are both cheaper than SignSend. From two people up, the group price is lower than either.

Is HelloSign cheaper than PandaDoc?

Only for a single user. Dropbox Sign Essentials at $180 a year undercuts PandaDoc Starter at $228, but Essentials cannot add a second person. The moment a colleague needs to send, you move to Standard at $300 per user with two seats minimum, so the bill jumps from $180 to $600. PandaDoc Starter for the same two people is $456.

On month to month billing the picture is similar. One user pays $20 on Dropbox Sign and $35 on PandaDoc. Two users pay $60 on Dropbox Sign Standard and $70 on PandaDoc Starter, which is close enough that features should decide it.

Watch the template counts if you reuse the same agreements. Both entry plans stop at 5 templates. Dropbox Sign Standard allows 15, and PandaDoc only lifts the cap on Business at $588 per user a year. A team with a dozen standard forms is really comparing Dropbox Sign Standard with PandaDoc Business, and that is $900 against $1,764 for three people.

Is PandaDoc worth it over HelloSign?

PandaDoc is worth the extra money when the document is built in the tool, and not worth it when you upload a finished PDF. Its editor assembles proposals from a content library, adds pricing tables that total themselves, and tracks when a prospect opens each page. Most CRM integrations are included from Starter, with Salesforce sold as an add-on. That is sales tooling, and Dropbox Sign has nothing like it.

Two things sit behind paywalls that buyers often assume are standard. Automatic reminders, approval workflows and custom branding start on PandaDoc Business. Bulk send is a paid add-on on both Starter and Business. If your pipeline starts earlier than the proposal, with a pitch to a room, an AI presentation maker that turns a report or PDF into slides covers that step, and the signed agreement comes after.

Dropbox Sign is a narrower product and better for it if signing is all you need. You upload, place fields, send and get back a signed copy with an audit trail. It saves completed documents into Dropbox automatically, and its API is the strongest reason developers pick it. If you are already weighing whether to leave it, the Dropbox Sign alternative page has the cost table by team size.

For the common small business case, engagement letters, service agreements, offer letters and vendor contracts that already exist as PDFs, both tools do the job. You are choosing a billing model more than a feature set.

When neither PandaDoc nor HelloSign is the cheapest choice

For two to ten people who send finished PDFs, a plan priced for the group costs less than either per user tool. SignSend Pro is $288 a year for up to 3 people and Business is $588 a year for up to 10. Both include unlimited documents and signers, templates, automatic reminders, signing order, deadlines and an audit trail printed into each signed PDF. Business adds bulk send to 200 recipients and your company name on the signing page.

Against the table above, three people save $396 a year compared with PandaDoc Starter and $612 compared with Dropbox Sign Standard. Ten people save $1,692 compared with PandaDoc Starter.

It is not the answer for everyone, and it is better to know that before you sign up. SignSend has no proposal editor, no CRM integration and no API, and it takes PDF uploads up to 20MB. A sales team that builds quotes in the tool should buy PandaDoc. A developer embedding signing in an app should look at Dropbox Sign's API plans. A single sender is cheaper on Dropbox Sign Essentials. The e-signature pricing comparison puts ten vendors side by side if you want a wider field.

Which one should you buy?

  • One person, finished PDFs. Dropbox Sign Essentials at $180 a year.
  • A sales team writing proposals. PandaDoc Business, because reminders, approvals and unlimited templates live there. Budget $588 per user a year.
  • Two or three people sending contracts every week. SignSend Pro at $288 a year for the group.
  • Five to ten people, any volume. SignSend Business at $588 a year, unless you need the proposal builder or an API.
  • An office that already pays for Dropbox and wants signed copies filed there. Dropbox Sign Standard, from $600 a year.

Whichever you pick, run one real document through the trial before paying for a year. Check what the signer sees on a phone, how the reminder reads, and what the audit trail records. Those three things matter more day to day than anything on a comparison chart. If PandaDoc versus a per account tool is the comparison you actually need, PandaDoc vs signNow runs the same numbers.
