$288
SignSend Pro for a year: one account, unlimited documents and unlimited signers.
DocuSign's annual cost is $132 for Personal, $360 per user for Standard and $540 per user for Business Pro on an annual commitment. Month to month the same plans cost $180, $540 and $780 a year. A team pays that seat price for every person who sends, each Standard or Business Pro seat includes 100 envelopes a year, and anything past that is billed as overage at $3.00 to $5.80 per envelope. The subscription renews automatically each year at the current list price.
How much does DocuSign cost per year?
DocuSign costs $132 a year for Personal, $360 per user a year for Standard and $540 per user a year for Business Pro when you commit to a year. Paid month to month the same plans come to $180, $540 and $780 a year. The plan sets the rate and the number of people who send sets the total.
These are DocuSign's own list prices from its eSignature pricing page, which states each annual rate as an annual commitment ("This is an annual commitment of $360" under Standard, read September 30, 2026). The month to month rates were read with the other billing toggle on September 26, 2026.
| DocuSign plan | Annual commitment, per year | Month to month, per year | Envelopes included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal (1 user) | $132 | $180 | 5 a month, hard stop |
| Standard, per user | $360 | $540 | 100 per user a year on annual |
| Business Pro, per user | $540 | $780 | 100 per user a year on annual |
The page quotes these as monthly figures ($11, $30 and $45 a month), which is why so many buyers are surprised by the first invoice. On the annual cycle you are agreeing to twelve months at that rate. Most of the DocuSign pricing articles that rank for this question still quote $10, $25 and $40, the rates before the last increase, so a budget built from them comes out $12 to $60 per seat short.
What a team pays DocuSign in a year
A team pays the seat price times the number of people who send, every year. People who only sign are free, so count senders, not staff. Here is the annual bill at each common team size.
| People who send | Standard, annual | Business Pro, annual | Standard, month to month | SignSend Pro, one account |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $360 | $540 | $540 | $288 |
| 2 | $720 | $1,080 | $1,080 | $288 |
| 3 | $1,080 | $1,620 | $1,620 | $288 |
| 5 | $1,800 | $2,700 | $2,700 | $288 |
| 10 | $3,600 | $5,400 | $5,400 | $288 |
The last column is priced a different way, so read it with care. SignSend charges per account, and an account is one login. It does not give each employee a separate seat. The flat price is the right comparison when one person, or one shared operations desk, sends on behalf of the business: an office manager sending onboarding packets, a bookkeeper sending engagement letters, a leasing coordinator sending renewals. If every one of your ten people must send under their own login with their own permissions, you are shopping for seats and should compare seat prices.
Is DocuSign cheaper if you pay annually?
Yes, the annual commitment is the cheaper cycle on every eSignature plan, by 27 to 33 percent. DocuSign's pricing page currently advertises "saving up to 33%", and the numbers bear it out on Standard.
| Plan | Month to month, a year | Annual commitment | You save | Percent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Personal | $180 | $132 | $48 | 27% |
| Standard, per user | $540 | $360 | $180 | 33% |
| Business Pro, per user | $780 | $540 | $240 | 31% |
The saving has a price of its own. Month to month plans get 10 envelopes per user per month and can be dropped after any month. The annual plan pools 100 envelopes per user for the year and runs to the renewal date, and DocuSign's terms allow a refund only in the first 30 days of a newly bought plan. If you are not sure you will still be on DocuSign in six months, the monthly premium is the cost of that option. If you are sure, take the annual rate.
The costs that land on top of the annual plan
The plan price is the floor of your annual DocuSign cost, not the ceiling. Three things push it higher during the year.
Envelope overage. Standard and Business Pro seats include 100 envelopes a year on the annual plan. DocuSign's overage FAQ lists the per-envelope rate past that: $3.00 on Standard annual if you pre-buy through Subscribe and Save, or $3.60 pay as you go, and $4.80 or $5.80 on Business Pro annual. Overage is billed automatically without interrupting sending. Personal has no overage, it simply stops at 5 a month.
| One Standard seat sending | Plan | Overage at $3.60 | Year total | SignSend Pro |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100 documents a year | $360 | $0 | $360 | $288 |
| 200 documents a year | $360 | $360 | $720 | $288 |
| 300 documents a year | $360 | $720 | $1,080 | $288 |
| 500 documents a year | $360 | $1,440 | $1,800 | $288 |
Add-ons. The same pricing page lists SMS delivery starting at $0.36 per delivery and ID verification starting at $2.40 per verification attempt, both plus tax. A team that texts signing links for every lease or verifies ID on every loan document can add hundreds of dollars a year this way.
Mid-term seats. A seat added during the year is charged pro rata for the time left in the term, and it then renews at full price with the rest of the account. Adding capacity is blocked inside the 60 day renewal window.
Every DocuSign plan priced per year
Outside the three core eSignature plans, DocuSign sells industry, nonprofit, IAM and developer plans, each with its own annual price. These are the published annual figures we have read from DocuSign's own checkout pages.
| DocuSign plan | Annual price | What the year includes |
|---|---|---|
| Real Estate, per user | $300 | 100 envelopes per user a year, 1 to 5 users |
| REALTORS (NAR members), per user | $240 | Unlimited within reasonable use |
| Nonprofit Personal | $120 | Personal plan at the nonprofit rate |
| Nonprofit Standard, per user | $210 | Annual only, new customers, verification required |
| Nonprofit Business Pro, per user | $336 | Annual only, new customers, verification required |
| IAM Starter, per user | $540 | 100 envelopes per user a year |
| IAM Standard, 3 user minimum | $1,800 | Unlimited sending from the web app |
| IAM Professional, 3 user minimum | $2,880 | Unlimited from the web app, Business Pro features |
| Developer API Starter | $600 | Annual developer plan, from $50 a month |
Two facts stand out. The cheapest way to get unlimited sending from DocuSign is IAM Standard at $1,800 a year, because it has a three seat minimum. And a real estate agent who is a NAR member pays less on the REALTORS plan ($240) than on almost anything else DocuSign sells, which makes it one of the few cases where DocuSign is cheaper than a flat account. More detail is on our DocuSign IAM pricing and DocuSign nonprofit pricing pages.
Does DocuSign automatically renew?
Yes. DocuSign renews the subscription automatically on the billing anniversary date, to the latest equivalent plan, with the same number of seats. That wording from DocuSign's renewals FAQ matters, because "latest equivalent plan" is how a seat bought at an older rate renews at today's list price.
Accounts eligible to manage renewal online get emails 60 days and 30 days before the date, plus banners in the account from 60 days to 7 days before. Inside that window an administrator can remove seats, switch plans or change from annual to monthly billing. Plan changes take effect at the renewal and are not prorated. Accounts bought through a DocuSign sales representative cannot cancel online, and changes to contracted seats happen at renewal through the rep.
If the renewal has already charged you, DocuSign allows a one-time refund of a first annual renewal if you ask within 14 days and have not sent any envelopes in the new term. The full walk-through of every option before and after that date is in our guide to DocuSign renewal and price increases, and if you decide to leave, how to cancel a DocuSign subscription covers each account type.
When a flat annual plan costs less than DocuSign
SignSend Pro is $288 a year for one account with unlimited documents and unlimited signers, so it costs less than DocuSign as soon as you would otherwise buy one Standard seat. One Standard seat is $360 before overage. The gap widens with every extra envelope past 100 and every extra sender who can share one login.
DocuSign is the cheaper answer in three honest cases. A sole proprietor under 5 documents a month pays $132 for Personal. A NAR member real estate agent pays $240 for REALTORS. A verified nonprofit buying one Standard seat for the first time pays $210. If you are one of those, buy DocuSign.
DocuSign is also the right buy if you need its integration catalog, reusable templates, web forms or payment collection, or if a customer's procurement team has already approved it. SignSend does not offer integrations or an API. What SignSend does is the core job: upload a PDF, add the signers, send it to everyone at once or in the signing order you set, set a deadline, remind the people who have not signed, and return a signed PDF with a full audit trail and certificate of completion. For most offices that send the same contracts, leases and onboarding forms all year, that is the whole requirement, and it costs the same $288 whether you send 50 documents or 5,000. See the SignSend pricing page for both plans.
What decides your DocuSign bill for the year
Six facts from DocuSign's own pricing, overage and renewal pages.
Every sender is a paid seat
Personal, Standard, Business Pro and every IAM tier are priced per user. The year's bill is the seat price times the people who send. Signers never pay.
The annual rate is a commitment
The $30 a month on Standard is an annual commitment of $360. You agree to the full year, and DocuSign refunds a new annual plan only if you cancel within 30 days.
100 envelopes per seat a year
Standard and Business Pro seats on the annual plan include 100 envelopes a year, pooled across the account. Monthly plans get 10 per user per month.
Overage is billed, not blocked
Past the allowance DocuSign keeps sending and bills $3.00 to $3.60 per envelope on Standard and $4.80 to $5.80 on Business Pro annual plans.
Add-ons are per use
SMS delivery starts at $0.36 per delivery and ID verification at $2.40 per attempt, both on top of the plan and both billed as you use them.
Renewal moves you to today's price
The plan renews on the anniversary to the latest equivalent plan with the same seat count. Change seats or plans inside the 60 day renewal window.
How to work out your DocuSign cost for next year
Four numbers, in this order, before you sign up or let a renewal run.
01
Count the people who send
Only senders need a seat. A fifteen person business where one coordinator sends everything is a one seat business for pricing. List the people who actually press send.
02
Count last year's documents
Pull the number of documents you sent for signature in the last twelve months. Divide by your seat count. Above 100 per seat, overage is part of your annual cost.
03
Price both billing cycles
Multiply seats by $360 or $540 for the annual commitment, and by $540 or $780 month to month. Add overage at $3.60 or $5.80 per envelope past the allowance.
04
Compare against one flat account
If one login can send for the office, put SignSend Pro at $288 a year next to your DocuSign total. Send your first document free to see the whole flow before you decide.

Who pays what for a year
Sole proprietor, a handful of documents
DocuSign Personal at $132 a year is cheaper than SignSend and fine if you stay under 5 documents a month. Buy it.
One office desk sending for everyone
An office manager or coordinator sending 150 to 1,000 documents a year pays DocuSign $360 plus overage for one seat, often $700 to $3,600. SignSend Pro is $288.
Three to five people who share the sending
Three Standard seats are $1,080 a year and five are $1,800. If they can work from one shared login, SignSend Pro at $288 covers the same documents.
A team that needs bulk send
DocuSign puts bulk send on Business Pro at $540 per user a year. SignSend Business is $588 a year for the account and sends to up to 200 recipients at once.
NAR member real estate agent
The DocuSign REALTORS plan is $240 a year with unlimited envelopes within reasonable use. That beats SignSend for a single agent.
