SignSend Business for up to 10 people

The best SignWell alternative for a team of three, or five to ten people, is a plan that charges once for the group instead of once per sender. SignWell Business is $360 a year for three senders and adds $144 a year for every extra person. SignSend Pro covers up to 3 people for $288 a year and SignSend Business covers up to 10 for $588, both with unlimited documents and templates.

SignWell is a good product and cheap for one person. Light at $120 a year beats every alternative here for a solo sender, and two people on Light still pay less than SignSend. The gap opens when the office grows. A ten person team on SignWell Business pays $1,368 a year, more than twice SignSend Business.

Below are SignWell's current plans, the yearly cost for 1 to 10 senders on SignWell and SignSend, how signNow, Dropbox Sign and DocuSign compare for a three person office, and what you would give up by switching.

SignWell plans and what each one costs

SignWell sells four tiers: Free, Light, Business and a quoted Enterprise plan. Light is $10 a month per sender billed yearly ($12 month to month). Business is $30 a month billed yearly ($36 month to month) and includes 3 senders. Each sender you add past the included ones costs $10 a month on Light and $12 a month on Business with yearly billing, or $12 and $15 month to month.

Prices are taken from SignWell's own pricing page, including the per-sender add-on prices shown under each plan card. The page advertises a 20 percent saving on yearly billing, but $10 against $12 is closer to 17 percent, so budget on the real numbers. The people you send documents to never need a SignWell account and never count as senders.

SignWell is one of the cheaper per-sender tools on the US market, and its free plan is more generous than most. The reason people look for a SignWell alternative is rarely the starting price. It is what happens to the bill as the office grows, because every new person who sends contracts is another line on the invoice.

What SignWell costs a team of 1 to 10 senders

On yearly billing SignWell costs $120 for one sender, $360 for three and $1,200 to $1,368 for ten, depending on the plan. SignSend charges one price for a group of people instead: Pro is $288 a year for up to 3 people and Business is $588 a year for up to 10. The table puts both side by side at every team size so you can see exactly where each one wins.

10$1,200$1,368$588 (Business)SignSend, by $612 to $780

Two notes on the arithmetic. Light can be cheaper than Business for larger teams because its extra sender costs $10 instead of $12, but Light caps each sender at 5 templates, so most offices with a shared document set end up on Business. On month to month billing SignWell is cheaper for most team sizes up to about eight senders: three senders on Business are $36 a month against $49 on SignSend Pro, and five are $66 against $99 on SignSend Business. At ten senders SignWell Business is $141 a month and SignSend Business is $99.

So the honest summary is short. If you are one, two or four people, SignWell Light is cheaper. If you are three people, or five to ten people, and you are willing to pay yearly, one SignSend plan for the group costs less than SignWell's per-sender pricing.

SignWell alternatives compared on price for a 3 person office

For three people who each send contracts, the realistic SignWell alternatives cost between $96 and $1,080 a year. The spread comes from how each vendor counts: by sender, by account or by document. The cheapest option in the table only stays cheapest while your volume stays low.

ToolYearly cost for 3 sendersHow it is pricedBest for
signNow Basic$96One price for unlimited users, 100 signature invites a year per accountTeams sending fewer than about 100 documents a year
SignSend Pro$288One price for up to 3 people, unlimited documentsSmall offices sending every week
SignWell Business$3603 senders included, $144 a year for each extraTeams that need SignWell's integrations and API
Dropbox Sign Essentials$540$180 a year per user, unlimited requestsOffices already working inside Dropbox
DocuSign Standard$1,080$360 a year per user, envelope allowance per userFirms that need DocuSign's integrations and ID checks

signNow is the cheapest line, and for a team that sends a few documents a month it is the right answer. Its yearly plans share 100 signature invites across the whole account, so a team that sends contracts daily goes past that in a few weeks and starts paying per invite. If you are comparing those two, our signNow pricing breakdown shows how invites are counted. For every vendor at 1, 3, 5 and 10 senders on one page, see the e-signature pricing comparison.

What you give up if you leave SignWell

SignWell has a public API, integrations and bulk send on its paid plans, and SignSend does not match all of that. Before you switch, check this list against how your office actually works.

  • API. SignWell includes a set number of API documents on each paid plan. SignSend has no API. If your software sends documents for signature on its own, stay on SignWell.
  • Integrations. SignWell connects to tools such as Zapier and cloud storage. SignSend works in the browser on its own: you upload a PDF, add signers and send.
  • Bulk send. SignWell includes bulk send from its Light plan up. On SignSend it is part of Business, where you paste up to 200 names and addresses and each person gets their own copy.
  • File types. SignSend signs PDFs up to 20 MB. Anything else has to be saved as a PDF before you upload it.

What you keep is the part most small offices actually use every day: unlimited documents, unlimited signers on each document, automatic reminders, signing order, deadlines you can move, reusable templates, a shared document list for the team and a certificate of completion with a full audit trail on every signed PDF.

How to move from SignWell without losing signed documents

Download every completed document from SignWell before your plan ends, then cancel at renewal rather than mid-term. Signed PDFs and their completion certificates are your record of the agreement, so they need to live somewhere you control (a shared drive or your document management system) no matter which signing tool you use next.

Then rebuild your templates. Most offices have five to fifteen standard documents (an NDA, an engagement letter, a service agreement, an offer letter). Upload each as a PDF in SignSend, save it as a template and the signature placement is kept for the next send. Documents that are still out for signature in SignWell should be left to finish there. Starting them again in a new tool confuses signers.

Time the switch to your SignWell renewal date. A yearly plan is paid in advance, so the cheapest moment to move is the week before it renews.

Why teams look for a SignWell alternative

The starting price is low. These are the four things that push the bill up as an office grows.

Every sender is billed

SignWell prices by sender. Light covers one person and Business covers three, and each extra person adds $10 to $15 a month depending on plan and billing cycle.

Templates are capped on Light

Light allows 5 templates per sender. An office with a standard set of agreements moves to Business, which raises the price of each extra seat to $12 a month.

Monthly billing costs more

Business is $30 a month on a yearly plan and $36 month to month, and extra senders go from $12 to $15. Teams that will not commit for a year pay about a fifth more.

The free plan stops at one person

The free plan sends 3 documents a month for a single sender and cannot add a colleague. The moment a second person needs to send, the account becomes a paid one.

How to decide in four minutes

Four numbers tell you whether to stay on SignWell or move.

01

Count the people who send

Only people who upload and send documents count. Clients, tenants and new hires who sign never need a seat on any of these tools.

02

Count documents a year

Under about 100 documents a year for the whole team, signNow Basic at $96 is hard to beat. Above that, look at unlimited plans.

03

Price SignWell at your size

Business is $360 for three senders plus $144 for each extra on yearly billing. Light is $120 per sender if 5 templates each is enough.

04

Compare with one group price

Set that total against SignSend Pro at $288 for up to 3 people or Business at $588 for up to 10. Pick the lower number for your real headcount.

SignWell Business against SignSend

Both at published yearly prices. SignWell charges per sender; SignSend charges once for a group of up to 3 or up to 10 people.

Who saves by switching from SignWell

Three person offices

A bookkeeping practice, a small agency or an insurance office where three people send engagement letters and contracts pays $360 on SignWell Business and $288 on SignSend Pro.

Teams of five to ten

A property manager or staffing firm with five to ten people sending leases or offer letters pays $648 to $1,368 on SignWell Business against $588 on SignSend Business.

Offices that keep hiring

On SignWell each new hire who sends documents adds $144 a year. On a group plan the price stays the same until you pass 3 or 10 people.

Teams that send to many people at once

SignSend Business sends one document to up to 200 people, each with their own copy and audit trail, which suits policy acknowledgments and annual renewals.

SignWell alternative questions, answered

What is the best SignWell alternative?

The best SignWell alternative depends on team size. For three people, or five to ten, sending documents every week on yearly billing, SignSend costs less because one plan covers the group ($288 for 3, $588 for 10). For a team sending under about 100 documents a year, signNow Basic at $96 is cheaper still. One or two senders should stay on SignWell Light.

Is SignWell free?

SignWell has a free plan for one sender with 3 documents a month and 1 template. It does not let you add a second sender. Anyone sending more than three documents a month, or working with a colleague, needs Light at $10 a month per sender billed yearly or Business at $30 a month for three senders.

How much does SignWell cost for a team?

SignWell Business is $360 a year for three senders, and each extra sender adds $144 a year on yearly billing or $15 a month on monthly billing. Five senders cost $648 a year and ten cost $1,368 a year on Business. Light is $120 per sender a year but limits each sender to 5 templates.

Does SignWell charge per user?

Yes. SignWell charges per sender, meaning each person who sends documents. Light includes one sender and Business includes three, and every extra sender is billed on top. The people who sign your documents are free and never need an account.

Is SignWell good?

SignWell is a solid, low-cost e-signature tool with a usable free plan, an API and bulk send from the Light plan up. Its weak spot is cost growth: each new sender is another charge, so a growing office pays more every time it hires. For one or two senders it is hard to beat on price.

Is signNow cheaper than SignWell?

For low volume, yes. signNow Basic is $96 a year with unlimited users, against $360 for three senders on SignWell Business. The catch is that signNow's yearly plans include 100 signature invites a year for the whole account. A team that sends more than that pays per invite, and SignWell's unlimited documents start to look cheaper.

Are SignSend signatures legally binding in the US?

Yes. SignSend signatures are legally binding electronic signatures under the U.S. ESIGN Act and UETA, the same laws SignWell relies on. Every signed PDF carries a certificate of completion and an audit trail with timestamps and IP addresses, which is the record you would show if a signature were ever disputed.
