SignNow is cheaper when your team sends fewer than about 100 documents a year, and SignWell is cheaper when you send more or when only one or two people send. SignNow charges for the document and lets everyone log in. SignWell charges for the person and lets them send as much as they want. Which one costs less depends on those two numbers, not on the headline price.

Prices below were read from each vendor's own pricing page: SignWell on October 30, 2026 and signNow on the pricing page we track on our SignNow pricing breakdown. All plans are US dollars on yearly billing unless stated.

What does SignNow cost compared to SignWell?

PlanBilled yearlyBilled monthlyWho can sendDocument limit
SignNow Basic$8 a month ($96 a year)$20 a monthUnlimited users100 signature invites a year per account (10 a month on monthly)
SignNow Business$15 a month ($180 a year)$30 a monthUnlimited usersSame as Basic
SignNow Advanced$30 a month ($360 a year)$50 a monthUnlimited usersSame as Basic
SignWell Free$0$01 sender3 documents a month
SignWell Light$10 a month ($120 a year)$12 a month1 sender, $10 a month for each extraUnlimited documents
SignWell Business$30 a month ($360 a year)$36 a month3 senders, $12 a month for each extraUnlimited documents

The pattern is easy to see once it is on one table. SignNow is the cheaper sticker price on every tier, and SignWell is the plan with no ceiling on documents.

Does SignNow limit how many documents you can send?

Yes. A yearly SignNow account gets up to 100 signature invites a year in total, shared by everyone on the account, and a monthly account gets 10 a month. Past that, signNow bills each extra invite and does not publish the rate for Basic, Business or Advanced. Its Enterprise pricing is quoted from $1.50 per invite.

An invite is broader than a signed contract. A document the signer declines still counts, and so does one you cancel before anyone signs. A shared signing link that is forwarded counts every completed signature separately. A five-person office that sends two documents each per week uses the yearly allowance in about ten weeks.

Does SignWell charge per user?

Yes, per sender. Light includes one sender and adds $10 a month for each extra. Business includes three senders and adds $12 a month for each extra. Signers never pay and never need an account, so the count is only the people who send documents. Documents are unlimited on both paid plans.

Which is cheaper for 1, 3, 5 or 10 senders?

Here is the yearly cost on yearly billing, using the cheapest SignWell plan at each team size.

SendersSignNow Basic (up to 100 invites a year)SignWell, cheapest plan (unlimited documents)
1$96$120 (Light)
3$96$360 (Light with 2 extra senders, same as Business)
5$96$600 (Light with 4 extra senders)
10$96$1,200 (Light with 9 extra senders)

If your team sends under 100 documents a year in total, SignNow Basic wins at every size and the gap grows with headcount. The picture flips on volume. A team that sends 300 documents a year pays SignNow for 200 extra invites on top of $96, and even at the $1.50 Enterprise rate (the only per-invite figure signNow prints) that would add $300. The Basic overage rate is not published, so check it in your account before you rely on the cheap headline.

Who should choose SignNow, and who should choose SignWell?

Choose SignNow if a large group needs access but only a handful of documents go out: an office with a dozen people who each send one or two contracts a year. Unlimited users on one low price is its real strength.

Choose SignWell if one or two people send all the paperwork and the volume is steady or growing: a sole broker, a bookkeeper, a small agency. Light at $120 a year with no meter is hard to beat for a single sender, and its Business plan adds custom branding, conditional fields and in-person signing.

Both are honest products for their shape. Neither is the cheapest answer for a small team that sends a lot, which is where the third option below comes in.

Is there a cheaper option than both for a team of three to ten?

Often yes, because a flat plan removes both meters. SignSend Pro is $49 a month ($288 a year billed yearly) for up to 3 people sending unlimited documents. Business is $99 a month ($588 a year) for up to 10 people and adds bulk send. Against the table above, three senders cost $288 on SignSend against $360 on SignWell, five cost $588 against $600, and ten cost $588 against $1,200.

It is a narrow product on purpose. It takes PDFs up to 20MB, sends one document per request and does not offer an API, so if you need an API or a large integration catalog, SignWell is the better pick. If your volume is under 100 documents a year, SignNow Basic is the cheaper pick. Before deciding, it helps to see what each seat and each invite actually costs across your subscriptions, which is the kind of view a read-only look at your SaaS spend gives you before renewal.
