The PandaDoc Starter plan costs $19 per user per month billed annually ($228 a year) or $35 billed monthly, and the Business plan costs $49 per user per month billed annually ($588 a year) or $65 monthly. Both include unlimited documents and e-signatures. Business adds unlimited templates (Starter stops at 5), automatic reminders, approval workflows and custom branding.

For one person building proposals in PandaDoc's editor, Starter is the cheapest sensible paid option. For a team of two or more that mainly needs PDFs signed, per-user pricing adds up fast: three Starter seats are $684 a year, while SignSend Pro covers the same three people for $288 a year with reminders and templates included.

How much is the PandaDoc Starter plan?

PandaDoc Starter is $19 per user per month billed annually ($228 per user per year) or $35 per user per month billed monthly ($420 per user per year). Those are the figures on PandaDoc's own plan comparison, which lists four tiers: Free eSign, Starter, Business and Enterprise. Sales tax can be added on top in US states that tax software.

The number that matters is the seat count. PandaDoc prices every plan per user, and a user is anyone who creates or sends documents. People who only sign never need a seat. So the real question for a small office is how many people press send.

What is the difference between PandaDoc Starter and Business?

Business adds unlimited templates, approval workflows, automatic reminders and custom branding to what Starter already has, for $30 more per user per month on annual billing. Both plans include unlimited documents, unlimited e-signatures, signing order, signing on any device, and PandaDoc's integrations with every CRM except Salesforce, which is a paid add-on on both.

The template limit is the line most small teams trip over. A sales office with an NDA, a master agreement, an order form, a renewal letter, a W-9 request and a change order already has six. On Starter, the sixth has to be rebuilt each time or one of the five deleted to make room.

Who should stay on PandaDoc Starter

PandaDoc is a proposal and quote platform first. Its editor builds documents from a content library, with pricing tables, product catalogs and analytics on who opened which page. If your team writes proposals inside PandaDoc and the signature is the last step of that process, Starter is a fair price for one or two people and nothing on this page replaces the editor.

One person who sends a handful of documents a month and does not need reminders is also better off on Starter. $228 a year is $60 less than SignSend Pro. We would rather say that here than have you find it out after paying.

Who overpays on PandaDoc Starter

A team that uses PandaDoc to get finished PDFs signed overpays from the second seat. If your contracts, offer letters, leases or engagement letters are written in Word or Google Docs and exported to PDF, PandaDoc's editor is not doing anything for you, and you are paying $228 per person per year for signing and tracking.

Three people on Starter cost $684 a year on annual billing and $1,260 on monthly. The same three people on SignSend Pro cost $288 a year or $49 a month, with unlimited documents, unlimited signers, document templates, signing order, deadlines and automatic reminders that Starter does not list. At ten people the gap is $2,280 for Starter against $588 for SignSend Business, which also adds bulk send and your company name on the signing page.

The other common overpay is the jump to Business to get reminders or a sixth template. That move takes one seat from $228 to $588 a year. If reminders and templates were the reason, a flat priced signing account covers both for less than the upgrade on a single seat.

Does PandaDoc have a free plan?

Yes. PandaDoc Free eSign is $0 and allows 5 documents a month with up to 2 recipients per document and up to 5 templates. It is built for occasional signing. A business that sends contracts every week outgrows it in the first month, which is why most people reading this page are choosing between Starter and Business.

SignSend does not have a free plan. You can send one document as a demo, signed end to end with the audit trail and certificate, to see it work before you buy.

How to switch from PandaDoc Starter without losing documents

Download every completed document and its certificate from PandaDoc before the renewal date, because access to the documents of a cancelled seat is not something to count on afterwards. Export your five templates as PDFs too. Then upload the PDFs to SignSend, save the ones you send every week as templates, and send. Our guide on how to cancel a PandaDoc subscription covers the billing settings and the renewal timing.

Plan the switch for the last few weeks of your PandaDoc term. Annual PandaDoc plans are paid up front, so leaving mid-term rarely gets money back.

What the PandaDoc plan choice really comes down to

Four questions settle Starter against Business, and whether you need PandaDoc at all.

How many people send

Every sender is a seat. One Starter seat is $228 a year on annual billing, three are $684 and five are $1,140. Signers never need a seat, so count the people who prepare and send documents.

How many templates you reuse

Starter allows up to 5 templates. Count the agreements your team sends at least monthly. Six or more means Business at $588 per user, or rebuilding documents by hand.

Whether you chase signatures

Automatic reminders are listed on Business, not Starter. If documents sit unsigned for days and someone follows up by email, that is the feature you are actually shopping for.

Whether you write documents in PandaDoc

PandaDoc's value is its proposal editor, pricing tables and content library. If your documents arrive as finished PDFs, you are paying per seat for an editor you do not open.

Annual or monthly

Monthly billing costs $35 instead of $19 on Starter, about 84 percent more over a year. Annual is cheaper but paid for twelve months whether the seat is used or not.

What it costs to leave

Annual PandaDoc plans run to the end of the term. Pick the plan for the next twelve months of head count, not the next two weeks.

How to work out your real PandaDoc bill

Ten minutes with your last quarter of paperwork gives you the number before the checkout does.

01

Count senders

List everyone who will create or send documents in the next twelve months. Multiply by $228 for Starter annual or $588 for Business annual.

02

Count templates

List the agreements you send again and again. More than five pushes you from Starter to Business on every seat.

03

Check reminders and branding

If you need automatic reminders or your logo on the signing experience, price Business, because Starter does not list either.

04

Compare with a flat plan

Put your seat total next to SignSend Pro at $288 a year for up to 3 people, or Business at $588 for up to 10, and keep the cheaper one that does the job.

Who PandaDoc Starter fits, and who overpays on it

A solo consultant writing proposals

One seat, proposals with pricing tables, signature at the end. Starter at $228 a year is the right buy and cheaper than SignSend.

A three-person agency sending contracts

Statements of work drafted in Google Docs, exported to PDF, signed by clients. Three Starter seats are $684 a year. SignSend Pro does the signing for $288.

An office manager sending for ten staff

Offer letters, leases or engagement letters for a team of ten. Ten Starter seats are $2,280. SignSend Business covers ten people for $588 and adds bulk send.

A sales team living in Salesforce

PandaDoc's Salesforce add-on and quote builder matter here. Stay on PandaDoc Business; SignSend has no CRM integration.

PandaDoc Starter plan questions, answered

How much is the PandaDoc Starter plan?

PandaDoc Starter costs $19 per user per month on annual billing, which is $228 per user per year, or $35 per user per month if you pay month to month. Every person who creates and sends documents needs a seat, so two users on annual billing pay $456 a year and three pay $684.

What is the difference between PandaDoc Starter and Business?

Starter ($19 per user per month annual) gives unlimited documents and e-signatures with up to 5 templates. Business ($49 per user per month annual) adds unlimited templates, approval workflows, automatic reminders and custom branding. Business costs $360 more per user per year than Starter on annual billing.

How many templates do you get on PandaDoc Starter?

PandaDoc's own plan comparison lists Starter with up to 5 templates, the same number as the Free eSign plan. Unlimited templates start on Business. If your team sends more than five standard agreements, Starter forces either constant re-uploading or the jump to Business at $49 per user per month.

Does PandaDoc Starter include automatic reminders?

No. PandaDoc's plan comparison lists auto reminders on Business and Enterprise, not on Starter. On Starter someone has to notice the unsigned document and nudge the signer by hand. SignSend Pro sends automatic reminders to signers who have not signed, at $288 a year for up to 3 people.

Can you pay for PandaDoc monthly?

Yes. Month to month, Starter is $35 per user per month and Business is $65 per user per month. That is $420 and $780 per user over a year, against $228 and $588 on annual billing, so monthly billing costs about 84 percent more on Starter and 33 percent more on Business.

Is PandaDoc Starter worth it for a small team?

For one person who builds proposals and quotes inside PandaDoc's editor, Starter at $228 a year is good value and cheaper than SignSend Pro at $288. It stops being good value once two or more people send, because each seat adds $228, and once you need more than five templates or automatic reminders.

Is there a cheaper alternative to PandaDoc Starter for a team?

If the job is getting PDFs signed rather than building proposals, yes. SignSend Pro is $288 a year for up to 3 people with unlimited documents, templates and automatic reminders, against $684 for three PandaDoc Starter seats. SignSend Business is $588 a year for up to 10 people, the price of one PandaDoc Business seat.
