How to Cancel an airSlate Subscription and Keep Signing for Less

To cancel an airSlate subscription, log in and cancel from your account settings if that option is shown, or contact airSlate support and get written confirmation that they received the request. airSlate's terms of service say fees are non-refundable by default, and the agreement renews automatically for another period of the same length until someone terminates it.
That combination catches small teams. A yearly plan renews for a full year, a monthly plan renews monthly, and a cancellation request that never got a written reply may not count. This guide walks through what the terms say, in order, and what a team that only needs documents signed can do instead of paying for a workflow suite.
How do I cancel my airSlate subscription?
Section 12.2 of airSlate's Terms of Service gives you two ways to end the agreement: log in and cancel through your account settings if that option is available, or contact airSlate support and receive written confirmation that your request was received. We did not find a step-by-step help article with menu names to quote, so we are not inventing them. Look in the account or billing area for a plan or subscription control.
- Log in as the account owner. Billing sits with the person or company that bought the plan, so an invited user may not see it.
- Open the account or billing settings and cancel the plan. Screenshot the confirmation page or keep the email.
- If you cannot find the control, contact support with the account email, the plan name and the date you were charged, and ask for written confirmation. The terms make that confirmation part of the process.
- Check the renewal date. Cancel before it, not on it, so the next period is never charged.
Does airSlate refund a cancelled subscription?
Not by default. Section 8.1 says that, unless airSlate agreed otherwise, all fees are non-refundable, even if you are not using the service or only used it briefly. Section 12.2 repeats it: airSlate does not refund fees on termination unless it has agreed to.
There is one door. The same section says airSlate may publish a refund policy on its website for specific services, for first-time users who are dissatisfied. Those policies apply only if you bought for the first time online through self-service checkout, without a sales representative. They do not cover excess usage fees. If you bought through a sales rep, assume there is no refund and read your signed Subscription Terms.
Will airSlate keep charging me after I cancel?
Only if the cancellation did not register. Section 12.1 says the agreement renews automatically for successive periods equal to your initial subscription period, and month to month if no period was specified. Section 8.6 says airSlate can charge the card on file for all amounts due, including recurring fees. If you see a charge after you cancelled, send the confirmation you saved. If you never received one, that is the reason to ask for it.
Section 8.4 is also worth knowing: airSlate may change its fees at any time, but a change takes effect from your next subscription period, not mid-term. A renewal notice is your cue to decide.
What if I used a trial or exceeded my plan limits?
Section 8.2 says that if you exceed the usage limits in your Subscription Terms, airSlate bills the excess as described there. Those fees are excluded from refund policies. If the reason you are cancelling is a surprise charge, read the usage limits on the plan you bought before you open a dispute, because the terms treat them as valid charges.
Is airSlate the same as signNow?
No, but they are related. airSlate is a document workflow platform, and signNow is a separate e-signature product from the same company. Each has its own subscription, so cancelling one does not cancel the other. If your charge is for signNow, use our guide on how to cancel a signNow subscription. Check the name on the card statement to see which product billed you.
What should I do before I cancel?
- Finish or withdraw open documents. Anything still waiting for a signature should be completed first.
- Download completed documents and any audit records. They are your proof if a signature is questioned later.
- Export what you rebuilt. Workflows, templates and form fields rarely move between tools, so keep a clean PDF of each agreement you will reuse.
- Note the renewal date and the confirmation. Put the date in a calendar and file the email.
What does a small team switch to for signing only?
It depends on why you are leaving. If you use airSlate's automation, form builders and integrations, a plain signing tool will feel like a step back, and you should stay or move to another workflow product. If you mostly send agreements and collect signatures, you are likely paying for a suite you do not use.
SignSend is built for that second case. Pro is $49 a month, or $288 a year billed yearly, for the whole account and up to 3 people, with unlimited documents and unlimited signers, plus an audit trail and certificate on every document. Business is $99 a month, or $588 a year, for up to 10 people and adds bulk send. Your first document is free, with no card. We do not build workflows or connect to other systems, so it is a swap only when the job is send, sign and file. Our e-signature pricing comparison lists how each vendor counts its price, and the DocuSign alternative page shows the cost at different team sizes.
Can I downgrade instead of cancelling?
Ask. The terms do not describe a downgrade path, and we did not find one documented, so the safe route is to ask support in writing what the plan changes to and when the new price starts. A renewal you can predict beats a refund you hope for. If you decide to leave, cancel the day you decide even if you keep using the plan until the cycle ends: the paid period stays in place and the decision cannot slip past the billing date. Teams that cut a software line should also set the saving against next quarter, and a budget that shows the monthly cost of each subscription makes it easier to see what a cancelled plan frees up.
Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel airSlate at any time?
Yes. Section 12.2 lets you notify airSlate of termination at any time, through account settings or through support with written confirmation. Cancelling does not refund fees already paid, so cancel before the renewal date.
How do I get a refund from airSlate?
By default you cannot, since fees are non-refundable. If you were a first-time buyer through self-service checkout, airSlate may have a published refund policy for that service, and you request it by following the instructions in that policy or contacting support.
Why was I charged after I cancelled airSlate?
The most common cause is that the cancellation did not register, or it was requested after the renewal date. Send support your written confirmation and the charge date. Without a confirmation, ask for one and ask them to review the charge.
