To cancel a Xodo subscription, cancel it where you bought it. A subscription bought on xodo.com is cancelled by logging in, opening account settings and choosing Billing. One bought through Google Play, the Apple App Store or the Microsoft Store is cancelled in that store, not in Xodo. Deleting your Xodo account is a separate step, so cancel the billing first or the charge can keep coming.

That is the whole answer from Xodo's own help article, which lists exactly those four routes. The rest of this page covers the mistakes that cost people a renewal, what to save before you leave, and what a small team that mainly needs documents signed can use instead.

How do I cancel a Xodo subscription?

Start by working out where the charge comes from. Check your card statement or the receipt email. A charge labeled Google, Apple or Microsoft means a store subscription. A charge from Xodo or Apryse means the web.

  1. Bought on xodo.com. Log in at xodo.com, open account settings, then Billing, and cancel the plan there.
  2. Bought in the Android app. Open Google Play, go to Payments and subscriptions, pick Xodo and cancel. Uninstalling the app does not stop the charge.
  3. Bought in the iPhone, iPad or Mac app. Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, pick Xodo and cancel. Apple handles the billing, so Xodo cannot cancel it from its side.
  4. Bought in the Windows app. Cancel from your Microsoft account under Services and subscriptions.

After cancelling, look for a confirmation email or a changed status on the billing page. If you see neither, assume it did not work and try again. A cancellation you cannot see confirmed is the one that turns into a charge next month.

Why does Xodo keep charging me after I cancelled?

The usual cause is cancelling in the wrong place. People delete the app or the Xodo account, but the subscription lives with whoever took the payment. Delete the app and Google or Apple still bills you. The second cause is two subscriptions: a phone purchase and a web purchase under the same email. Cancelling one leaves the other running.

Xodo says deleting an account is immediate and cannot be undone, so cancel billing first, confirm it, and only then delete anything. If a charge still arrives, dispute it with the party that billed you, whether that is the card issuer or the app store.

Will I get a refund when I cancel Xodo?

The help article does not describe a refund rule, and we did not find one stated on the page that covers cancelling. Do not assume a refund. For a web purchase, read the terms shown at checkout and in your receipt. For an app store purchase, the store decides: Google and Apple each run their own refund request process, separate from Xodo.

The practical advice is the same on every plan. Cancel a few days before the renewal date, not after it.

What to save before you cancel

Download every signed or edited file you will need again, and keep the originals. Check these before the plan lapses:

  • Signed PDFs and any completed agreements you may need to produce later.
  • Documents still waiting for someone's signature. Finish them or re-send them elsewhere.
  • Any saved signature or initials you reuse. Re-create them in the new tool.
  • Names and emails of regular signers, so you can re-send quickly.

What can a small team use instead of Xodo?

If you came to Xodo to get contracts signed and not to edit PDFs all day, you are paying for tools you may not use. SignSend is built for the signing job: upload a PDF up to 20MB, add the signers, and each person signs from a link with no account. Every document gets a dated audit trail showing who signed, when and from what address.

Where the other tools winIf you need to edit, annotate or merge PDFs every day, a PDF editor does that and SignSend does not.

For the per-seat math, see our breakdown of Xodo Sign pricing by team size, which shows when a flat plan costs less, and the wider e-signature pricing comparison. If you also pay for another signing tool, the same cancel steps apply there: we have a guide for cancelling signNow too.

When you export your signed PDFs on the way out, a long agreement is easier to check if you can ask questions of the PDF itself instead of rereading forty pages for a renewal clause or a notice period.

Frequently asked questions

Can I cancel Xodo from the website if I subscribed on my phone?

No. A subscription bought through Google Play, the App Store or the Microsoft Store is managed by that store. Cancel it in the store account that was charged, then confirm the status there.

Does deleting my Xodo account cancel the subscription?

Not reliably. Xodo treats account deletion as a separate step, and a store subscription can keep billing without the account. Cancel billing first and check the confirmation before deleting anything.

Do I lose access immediately after cancelling?

Store and web plans usually run to the end of the period you already paid for, but check the end date shown on your billing page rather than assuming it.

Is there a cheaper way to get documents signed?

Yes, if signing is the main job. SignSend Pro is $288 a year for up to 3 staff with unlimited documents, and you can send one document free to try it. See SignSend pricing for the full plans.
