Photo Release Form Software for Photographers, Studios and Event Hosts
SignSend lets a photographer, studio or event host send a photo release, model release or video release for electronic signature and get it back signed before the shoot starts. Upload the release your attorney approved, add the person, and they sign from their phone. Every release is dated and stored, and one flat rate covers a single wedding or a season of events.
Try one document to see it work, then $49 a month or $288 a year billed yearly for up to 3 staff.

SignSend is photo release form software for people who need written permission to use someone's image and want it signed and filed before the shoot. Upload your release once, send it by email or text link, and each person signs their own copy on a phone. The signed PDF and its audit trail go into your document list, and Pro covers up to 3 staff for $288 a year.
Yes, a photo release can be signed electronically. Under the federal ESIGN Act and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act a signature cannot be rejected only because it is digital, as long as the signer meant to sign and you keep a record. A model release, a client photo release and a video release can each be a PDF you upload.
SignSend does not write the release and does not store your photos. It carries your release to the signer, records the signature, and stores the signed document.
Can a photo release form be signed electronically?
Yes. Electronic signatures are valid for photo, model and video releases under the ESIGN Act and UETA, as long as the signer intends to sign, agrees to do it electronically, and you keep the signed record. The signed PDF and its audit trail show who signed, when, and from what address.
What a release actually permits depends on its wording, so have your attorney review the release you upload. SignSend delivers the signature and the record, and your release supplies the terms.
What should a photo release form cover?
Most releases name the photographer or business, the person being photographed, the date and location, and what the images may be used for, such as a portfolio, a website, social media, print or advertising. They also say whether the person is paid, whether the permission is limited in time, and whether names may be used.
A model release for commercial use is usually broader than a client release for a family session. Keep them as separate PDFs so you can send the right one.
Everything a photographer needs to collect releases
Built around how shoots, sessions and events actually run.
Send it before the shoot
Email the link with the booking confirmation. The model or client signs at home, so shoot day starts with the camera.
Your own release, unchanged
Upload the PDF your attorney approved. Your wording on usage, editing, print, web and commercial rights stays exactly as written.
A dated record for every person
Each signed release carries the signer, the time and the IP address, and you can download the finished PDF with its audit trail.
Many signers, one release
For a group, a class or an event, send each person their own link so each signs their own copy. Business adds bulk send for larger lists.
Minors and guardians
Rules for minors depend on your state. Where a parent or guardian may sign, send that adult their own link so their signature is recorded separately.
One flat price for every shoot
Pro covers up to 3 staff and Business up to 10, with unlimited documents and unlimited signers, so a busy season costs the same as a quiet one.

SignSend vs paper releases and photography studio software
A focused signing tool, not another system to move your whole business into.
| What you are comparing | SignSend | Paper and studio software |
|---|---|---|
| Starting price | One free document, then $49/mo flat Pro | Paper is cheap per sheet; studio software usually bills monthly |
| What it is | Document signing with an audit trail | Studio software adds booking, galleries, invoices and contracts |
| Your own release wording | Yes, upload any PDF | Paper yes; studio software often supplies its own template |
| Finding a release later | Search your document list | A folder of scans, or the software's client record |
| Signed before the shoot | Yes, from a link | No for paper; depends on the software |
| Per-document fees | None | Varies by product |
| Where studio software wins | It does not deliver galleries or take bookings | If you want booking and galleries in one system, studio software does that and SignSend does not |

Photo Release Form Software questions, answered
Can a photo release form be signed electronically?
Yes. A photo release form signed on a phone is valid under the ESIGN Act and UETA when the signer intends to sign and you keep the record. The signed PDF carries the signer, time and IP address. Have your attorney approve the wording of the form you upload.
Can I use my own photo release template?
Yes. Upload your own PDF, up to 20MB. SignSend sends it as written and records the signature. Your wording on usage rights is not changed or replaced.
Does the signer need an account?
No. The signer opens the link in a browser, reads the release and signs with a finger or mouse. There is nothing to install.
Does SignSend store my photos?
No. It stores signed documents and their audit trail, not images. Keep your photos where you already store them.
Can a group sign the same release?
Each person signs their own copy from their own link, so every signature is recorded separately with its own audit trail.
What does it cost?
Pro is $49 a month or $288 a year for up to 3 staff, with unlimited documents and signers. Business is $99 a month or $588 a year for up to 10 staff. The first document is free to try.
